{Free} Getty Villa Art Adventure/Montessori Scavenger Hunt/Kinetic Art-Activity-

The Getty Villa . . . that amazing place to go.

If you have never been. . . it should be on your list. If you have been before . . . Always good to visit again!!

This event will have several parts/aspects. It is a Getty Villa visit where we will have an Art Adventure.

It will consist of Peristyle Tour, mini art lecture, then we break off into our Montessori Scavenger Hunt/Kinetic Art Activity. After that we re-convene for a themed Potluck Picnic.
What makes this event different from others that visit to Getty Villa . . . is you don't have to take care of tickets. They have given us tix for 100 persons.

Attendance is NOT first come first served. Your attendance will be depending upon if you have filled out our google form completely AND upon past attendance (if you have had many "no show"). About a week before the event I send the tix pdf via email.

Question: This all sounds like a lot of hoops to go thru. Why so many steps?
Answer: Because we only get so many slots. What we do not want is to hand out slots to those who will be a no-show.

They are very well aware we are coming and they are happy to have us attend. This is why they give us space and allow use of the picnic and the theater area.

Itinerary
9:30 to 10:00 Arrival
9:30 to 10:00 Meander and Stroll around the outer gardens and the Peristyle
10AM Meet at the bottom end of the Outer Peristyle for a guided tour of the Outer Peristyle
10 to 10:30 Guided tour of the Outer Peristyle
10:30 Meet at the Amphitheater
10:30 to 11:00 Small Art Lesson AND Instructions for Montessori Museum Scavenger Hunt/Kinetic Art Activity
11:00 to 12:30 Montessori Museum Scavenger Hunt/Kinetic Art Activity
12:30/1:00 to 1:45 Potluck Lunch ( in our reserved picnic area)
2:00 onwards More Museum or head out to other adventure

So here is what will happen.
Getty opens to allow onto the property (parking) at 9:30AM.
The grounds are open but not the main bldg. That opens at 10:00AM

We STRONGLY suggest you are in line at the main gate on PCH no later than 9:30 to get in first and park. Either way, . . . The main part of the meetup will start at 10:30 sharp.

IF you are parked and in there by 10AM you will get the extra bonus Docent Tour of the Peristyle

Lunch will in the picnic area reserved for us.

THEMED POTLUCK bring anything AS LONG AS you can tie it in to Greek, Italian, Roman. Be creative about it. We will provide the plates, napkins, utensils.
After that spend more time at the museum at your leisure with new friends.

The Getty Villa is a free museum. This is a FREE event (there is no charge from us) BUT . . . You have to pay for parking.
Parking is $20 per car. You will NEED to have a Museum Entry Ticket from us to be able to be allowed in the parking area.

And yes, . . .the museum is fully aware we are coming and doing this. So it's not like we will get in trouble. But we still have to behave and follow rules.

This event is no +1. This means if you have a guest: have them RSVP on the group. I need to account for all attendees.
