Leadership Lives: On Leading Yourself – with Personal Authenticity

Details
Join us with Mina Boström Nakicenovic (CTO at Flightradar 24) in conversation with Simon Powers (AWA CEO) discussing the art of Self-Leadership and Leading with Authenticity.
About this MeetUp
Effective leadership begins with mastering the art of self-leadership with authenticity.
Why? Because leadership is not only about leading others but also about leading yourself. As it is important for a successful organisation to have a clearly defined vision, mission and core values and to stick to them, the same should also be said for successful leadership. Therefore the path to your professional success starts with a look in the mirror: What are your values and beliefs? How do you measure your life? Have you created a strategy for your life?
Drawing insights from the acclaimed Harvard Business Review (HBR) book, “On Managing Yourself,” this session explores the critical concept of self-leadership and its profound impact on balancing the demands of leading your teams with those of serving the broader organisational goals.
For this session, we will be in conversation with Mina Bostrom Nakicenovic (CTO at Flightradar 24) and Simon Powers (CEO at AWA). Mina will share her first-hand experiences as CTO leading fast-growing technology companies and how she has balanced the needs of her teams, corporate objectives and her family life too. She will also explain why it is important to stay true to yourself from a leadership perspective and – what is even more interesting – how you can develop your personal skills in order to achieve that. Furthermore Mina will poetically do that: she will illustrate good leadership traits through Rudyard Kipling’s poetry.
Sharing practical guidance for anyone aspiring to be effective leaders in their professional lives. Including cultivating self-awareness and self-esteem, defining personal vision and mission, creating a strategy for your life, staying true to yourself, and becoming an authentic and resilient leader. All while navigating the complex system of team leadership and organisational objectives.
