About us
Leamprov, the premier improvised comedy troupe in Leamington Spa.
Who we are:
Leamington Improvised Comedy Group (Leamprov) is an inclusive community for anybody who wants to try, learn, or perform improvised comedy. James and Fay run the group but there are a lot of dedicated members who support us. We try to make all our workshops and jams accessible for all, regardless of your previous experience.
Our drop-in workshops are every Monday 7-9pm at the Band Factory in Leamington. Your first workshop is free with every workshop and jam after being £3.00. We hope to keep the price as low as possible.
Never done improv before?
All our workshops are aimed at all abilities with James and other members available to support you if you have never done any improvised comedy before.
James’ ethos is loud, proud, and wrong so please do not be afraid to have a go!
Structure of the Workshops
Each month, we focus on a theme. Over the course of 3-4 weeks, we focus on different aspects of that theme, starting at the very basics and working upwards. Examples include character work, miming, and spontaneity. The last Monday of the month is reserved for the Improv Jam, a relaxed performance environment where everyone gets a chance to play some improv games on stage, or watch others have a go if you prefer.
If you would rather just watch, we regularly perform in shows and organise our own showcase ‘The Elephant in the Room’. Keep an eye on our pages for updates on upcoming performances.
