Put Trust back in your Software Branching Strategy with Ship/Show/Ask - Rouan Wilsenach
Pull requests have become a bottleneck. Engineers waste hours waiting for code reviews or long builds, switching between branches or reworking changes.
We are wasting time with no measurable improvement in quality.
Ship/Show/Ask is a new software branching strategy that combines the features of Pull Requests with the ability to keep shipping changes.
In this session, we'll look at branching in a more inclusive, dynamic way to unlock impactful code reviews without creating bottlenecks.
About the speaker - Rouan is a software engineer and technical leader who helps build outstanding teams and high-quality software. He's worked in a variety of technology stacks for companies in the financial services, education, leisure and energy sectors. He’s worked as a consultant and in product teams, helping teams learn good engineering practices and helping businesses transform the way they build software. He cares about keeping things simple, building inclusive teams, and sharing what he learns.
The Trust Equation - Stephen McAinsh
Trust is pivotal for the success of an agile team. Where do you start with understanding and building trust with others?
Developed in the 1960s, the TRUST Equation is a lesser-known model of what contributes to trustworthiness and an approach to building trust.
Following Rouan’s talk on the importance of trust amongst developers, Stephen will give an overview of Trust Equation, and you will get a chance to put it into practice.
About the speaker - Stephen is an agile coach, trainer and founder of Calba. He strongly believes in focusing on people before process and tools, influenced from his past experience as a personal development leader with charities Venture Scotland and Raleigh International. Stephen founded Calba in 2010 to focus on providing agile coaching and training in Scotland. He started Lean Agile Edinburgh in 2013.
