We are an ambitious group of startup founders, community mentors, entrepreneurial enthusiasts, and Lean Startup evangelists. Our Meetup group serves the greater Orlando community as a platform to share experiences, learnings, questions and thoughts about innovation and the Lean Startup Methodology.
Many of our presenters and guest speakers represent the startup community, non-profits and social enterprises, and large corporate entities - and together - our goal is to grow the knowledge base of Lean Startup and broaden the understanding of how the Lean Startup Methodology delivers value to all types of organizations.
We typically curate speakers from the Orlando community, and oftentimes, we will feature guest speakers from Silicon Valley and other entrepreneurial ecosystems.
In June we have Curtis Michelson and Josh Walker sharing two complementary perspectives on innovation teams, diversity, and inclusion!
Meet our Speakers:
Curtis Michelson serves enterprises with strategic business transformation. He created Minds Alert in 2015, an enterprise design agency based in Orlando, FL serving clients globally. They specialize in "SprinterVentions", which are customized time-boxed iterative cycles of rapid discovery and learning.
Curtis will be sharing and demo'ing Swarm Vision - his go-to choice for forming balanced innovation teams at the start of a client engagement. Swarm Vision provides key insights into the unique innovation talents of individuals in order to build the right mix of skill diversity for the right kind of innovation teams.
Joshua “TechDev” Walker is an Honorable Army Vet turned Techie, Senior Cloud Engineer, Diversity Advocate, and Author of “Venti Fried Chicken”. Josh uses commonplace examples with humorous storytelling to train, inspire, and relate to everyday people who have an interest in starting a career in technology as a self-taught technician. Josh has been featured on PBS's Nerd Nite Spotlight, is a co-founder of Black Orlando Tech, and is a frequent keynote speaker for tech education.
Josh will be showcasing Diversity Equity and Inclusion by the numbers. According to Insider and Forbes, your business's lack of diversity is hurting your business and leaving upwards of a Trillion dollars out of the overall economy. He will have a lot more data and practical steps on how businesses can attack this problem from a place of empathy.
As always, we will have an interactive Q&A session so bring any questions you may have about innovation methodology, pet peeves, blocking issues - doesn't have to be directly related to the speakers.
We will kick things at 5:30 pm sharp, so don't be late joining. We look forward to seeing you, virtually :)
