Quantum computing is often described as a “faster computer” or as the next step after AI - but both views are deeply misleading.

Last November 2025, we delighted in Dr. Raj's introduction into quantum mechanics. What better way to kickstart a new year of learning by continuing in this exciting quantum realm and see the application in tech!

The speaker is Dr. Mari who will be dialing in from Japan. She has a PhD from University of Tokyo in quantum physics and founded QERA, a strategy consultancy for future-ready society.

Agenda (tentative):
1. how quantum systems differ fundamentally from classical and AI-based technologies
2. what makes quantum computing conceptually different
3. why it is increasingly discussed alongside AI
4. why it has the potential to affect industries and everyday decision-making far beyond narrow technical domains.

The goal is not to predict winners or applications, but to give a clearer mental model of what kind of change quantum computing represents - and why it may matter to societies, organizations, and individuals alike.

** No prior background in quantum computing is required.
