What we’re about
This group offers casual, drop-in classes. in which we learn German through reading stories and translating them into English.
Currently, there are two levels. Days and times vary on a week to week basis, but each class is self-contained so missing one (or two) is totally ok.
A1/A2 -- We read basic stories that are designed for these levels. They're fun, easy-to-read and introduce grammatical concepts in action rather than through rote learning. Every class begins with a warm-up conversation. The cost of each class is 5 Euro.
B2 + -- We read real German literature written by real German authors. We will work together to learn and suss out the meaning as we translate. The focus for the time being will be on poetry. Longer works may be introduced later. The class is free with modest donations to support the space accepted.
Meet-Ups take place at New Pages Event Space at Eulerstrasse 2 near Gesundbrunnen. It's not a bar, but various drinks are available to purchase.
