### Welcome to the Learn German America Meetup Group!
At Learn German America, we make learning German fun, flexible, and personalized! Whether you’re just starting or you’ve already got some experience, our meetups are designed to help you improve your German in a relaxed, engaging, and supportive environment.
With 3 to 5 online meetups per month, you'll have the opportunity to practice and learn consistently while fitting into your busy schedule. We combine modern learning tools like Zoom for live classes, Google Classroom for resources and assignments, and digital materials to make sure you have everything you need to succeed.
Our approach uses a variety of language learning methods, including Vera Birkenbihl’s brain-friendly techniquesfor passive learning and decoding, among other effective strategies. This allows you to learn German intuitively, with the right balance of explanations and real-world practice.

### How Our Meetups Work:
- First Phase: 15-30 Minute Learning Process Discussion
- Focus: We start each meetup with a discussion on your learning process. This is where you get to:
- Share what’s been working well.
- Discuss what’s still tricky or needs more attention.
- Ask questions or bring up topics you want to focus on in class.
- Goal: This allows us to customize the meetup based on your individual needs and interests, so every session is relevant and helpful.
- Focus: We start each meetup with a discussion on your learning process. This is where you get to:
- Second Phase: 45-60 Minute Class
- Focus: In this phase, we dive into interactive language learning. We cover things like:
- Grammar (making it fun and practical),
- Vocabulary (we learn the words you’ll use in real situations),
- Speaking (conversation practice, role-playing, and more),
- Listening (to help you understand spoken German better).
- Everything is designed to be hands-on, engaging, and relevant. We’ll use Zoom for live interaction and Google Classroom to keep track of all the materials and assignments. You’ll leave each class feeling more confident in your ability to use German in the real world.
- Focus: In this phase, we dive into interactive language learning. We cover things like:

### Our Approach:
At Learn German America, we believe in using a mix of methods that work for YOU. We incorporate the Vera Birkenbihl method, which focuses on passive learning, decoding, and immersing yourself in the language through exposure. But we don’t stop there! We also use a variety of other approaches to make sure your learning experience is dynamic and effective.
- Vera Birkenbihl Method: Focuses on passive learning, where you are exposed to the language in natural contexts and start understanding its structure intuitively. This means decoding the language without focusing on memorization, making it easier for you to naturally absorb and use German.
- Immersion and Non-Immersion Phases: We know that language learning requires balance. That’s why we combine immersive learning (speaking and listening in German as much as possible) with moments where we explain concepts in English to make sure you understand everything clearly.
- Interactive Practice: Whether it’s grammar drills, role-playing, or speaking practice, we focus on practical language use that you can apply immediately.

- In-Person Events: Separate fees apply for in-person events in NYC, LA, and Las Vegas.
