In order to extend WordPress, a developer needs to have a foundational understanding of the WordPress database as well as knowledge of how to interact with and manipulate the data stored there.

In this session, we'll take a high-level overview of the WordPress database, review the default ways to interact with the core schema and data, and learn how to add and use custom tables for additional functionality.

If you want to work with me during this session, you will need the following:

  1. Access to a local WordPress install
  2. A text editor to edit WordPress files.
  3. (Optional) A way to access your local database.

I will be using Visual Studio Code as my code editor for the workshop.

Audience: Developers
Level: All levels welcome
Where: Zoom (link will be visible after RSVP)

This session is being held at an EU/Africa/US Eastern-friendly time. If you cannot get to the live session, keep an eye out for the recording we’ll be publishing on WordPress.tv and learn.wordpress.org after the session is completed :-)

See you soon!
