In a recent tutorial on Learn WordPress, I described how to use the PHPCompatibility tool to test plugin PHP code against newer PHP versions. What I did not know at the time is that there is a PHPCompatibility ruleset specifically for WordPress projects called PHPCompatibilityWP, and this is the recommended tool to use in WordPress projects. In this session, you will learn what this tool does, and how to use it in your projects.

If you want to work with me during this session, you will need the following:

  1. Access to a local WordPress install
  2. A text editor to edit WordPress files.
  3. You will also need to have Composer installed on your local PC

I will be using Visual Studio Code as my code editor for the workshop.

Audience: Developers
Level: All levels welcome
Where: Zoom (link will be visible after RSVP)

This session is being held at an EU/Africa/US Eastern-friendly time. If you cannot get to the live session, keep an eye out for the recording we’ll be publishing on WordPress.tv and learn.wordpress.org after the session is completed :-)

See you soon!
