Welcome retirees! We're an in-person community of lifelong learners committed to flourishing in our post-career lives. I started this group to meet and learn from others who are eager to stay curious and engaged in this chapter of life. We'll meet to discuss relevant topics and share insight as we seek to grow, evolve, and make the most of the opportunities and challenges of retirement.
**NOTE: Learning and Thriving in Retirement - *North ***will meet primarily in White Bear Lake. The original Learning and Thriving in Retirement Meetup Group meets in Edina/Minneapolis and is well into our second year and going strong. I recently moved to White Bear Lake and decided to add a second group for people living in St. Paul and the northern suburbs.

You may have heard about the Harvard Study of Adult Development, it is the longest study of the same people that has ever been done, following people since 1938 from adolescence all the way through old age.
Robert Waldinger, current director of the study, has shared the findings widely in Ted Talks, interviews, podcasts, a book, and articles. He reports that the most consistent finding that researchers have learned over the 87 years of data collection is that the people who turn out to be the happiest and the healthiest are those who have good, warm connections to others.
Please join us for a conversation about how relationships matter in our lives, how they affect our health, what kinds of relationships give us this benefit in health and happiness, and tools to strengthen our relationships. We'd love for you to share any unique challenges and/or successes you have experienced in your connections to others as you navigate this time of life.
