Indulgence Without Guilt: Permission, Pleasure, and the Art of Enough
Details
With the holiday season approaching, I began thinking about how many of our celebrations involve giving ourselves permission to indulge.
And that got me thinking about indulgence in general. What role should indulgence play in a thriving retirement, and why do so many of us struggle to enjoy it without guilt?
After a lifetime of striving, accomplishing, and meeting responsibilities, how comfortable are you with pleasure, rest, and "doing enough" in retirement? What would happen if you occasionally skipped a workout, ate the dessert, said no to an invitation, or left something undone?
Join us for a conversation about what indulgence means to you and how you are managing the push pull of pleasure and responsibility. Of course, not all indulgence serves us – some indulgences leave us feeling regret or depleted. Being able to discern the difference is important, we’ll talk about how to do that.
As always, we look forward to engaging discussion and creating community as we learn from each other, evolve, and grow in this chapter of our lives. If you are able, join us for a social hour after our discussion at a local restaurant.
