The city of Hanno in southern Saitama Prefecture thrived during the Edo Period (1603–1867) as a center of production of high-quality Nishikawazai lumber. About three-fourths of the city's total land area is covered by forests.
Hanno is an excellent place for outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and canoeing while observing the beauties of the four seasons, including the colors of autumn and fresh green of spring.
MOOMINVALLEY PARK is the first Moomin recreational facility outside of Moomin's home country Finland.
Surrounded by the bounties of nature on the ridge along Lake Miyazawa, Metsa Village is a place where visitors can enjoy their time off in style amid a Scandinavian atmosphere. In MOOMINVALLEY PARK, we can experience the worldview of the Moomin tales, playing the role of a resident of Moomin Valley.
