This Year’s Plenaries
The AI Kitchen: A Welcoming Space for Hands-On AI Learning
Santa Clara University’s AI Kitchen is an open-access space designed to make hands-on AI experimentation approachable and welcoming. Open to students from every major, faculty, staff, and community members, the Kitchen intentionally feels more like a communal kitchen than a technical lab—no application or coding experience required.
Since launching in April 2026, the AI Kitchen has offered three formats: weekly drop-in sessions featuring industry guests and real-world AI workflows; quarter-long mentored team projects; and a public Demo Night, where 15 student teams presented their work to eight industry judges this June. Check out the AI Kitchen IdeaLab (sessions 1-3 @ station 4).
The AI Tinkery: A Sandbox for Hands-On AI Literacy
The AI Tinkery is an AI makerspace at Stanford’s Graduate School of Education. Since 2024, the Tinkery has developed a hands-on approach to AI literacy focused on helping people understand, shape, and use AI through collaborative, applied, and thoughtful experimentation.
Faculty, staff, and students from across campus—as well as visiting K–12 educators and a growing satellite network—come together to try, question, and remix AI tools. For ATXpo, the Tinkery will bring a portable slice of this experience to the conference through their IdeaLab (sessions 1-3 @ station 13).
