Harrogate to Knaresborough walk through Nidd Gorge & back. 6.6 miles.

Details
Beautiful circular walk starting at Bilton Lane in Harrogate at the junction of the little car park and the cycle path 636 from Harrogate to Ripley.
If the free car park is full then you can park along Bilton Lane.
We start the walk by walking along part of Harrogate Greenway (cycle path to Ripley) we then drop down to walk along the beautiful Nidd Gorge.
We then ascend and join the path to Knaresborough along the access road and then rejoining the cycle path dropping down into Knaresborough around 1 pm.
We will then have our lunch break in Knaresborough.
Please either bring something to eat with you or alternatively, there will be the opportunity to buy a drink and food from one of the cafes by the river in knaresborough.
Please do be aware though the various eateries by the river can get extremely busy this time of year.
After around a 30 to 45 minute break (depended a little on weather) we will start to ascend back up the cycle footpath to Harrogate.
At the end of the walk we pass by the Gardeners Arms pub in Bilton Lane which if people want to we can stop and have a drink. The pub has a lovely garden.
However, if people want to get off home then that’s absolutely fine.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Please be aware, dogs will need to be kept on a lead when we walk along the narrow access road to rejoin the cycle path.
Please bring water to drink throughout the walk and a snack for on route.
