Two Bridges in Calderdale

This is a Leeds CHA C walk. It is a linear of about 6.5 miles with minimal climbing. The route follows the Rochdale Canal towpath and may be muddy in places.
The walk starts from Sowerby Bridge station, but before setting off along the canal we first visit the wharf and admire the canal boats & listed canal warehouses. This is where the canal and River Calder meet, and where goods were transferred from the river boats to canal boats.
The canal then wends its way along the valley side to Hebden Bridge and points west, passing Mytholmroyd and other small settlements on the way. The walk finishes in Hebden Bridge, with its cafes and pubs, then we return to Leeds on the train.
