Harewood and Eccup Reservoir to Alwoodley
Details
This is a Leeds CHA C walk, taken at a steady pace.
The walk is just under 6 miles with a moderate amount of gradual climbing, using good paths and tracks. There are no stiles.
Starting from the park gates we descent to the bridge over Eccup beck, with the views of Harewood house that JMW Turner saw and painted. We then have a gradual climb up through the woods to Stub House Farm and the entrance to the Emmerdale site. From there we follow the track due south to Eccup Reservoir, which at this time of year will have a lot of overwintering waterfowl. The route then takes us round the reservoir and the golf course to Goodrich Lodge and the road back to Alwoodley.
We finish at the Park & Ride on King Lane, where there are frequent buses back to Leeds.
Please be aware that if necessary the route may be amended or the walk cancelled in the event of severe weather.
This is a Leeds CHA walk, and there is no charge to attend the first three walks, but to attend further walks we request that you join our club for an annual membership of only £6.00. This will give you access to an unlimited number of walks, social events, coach trips, and weekends away, in line with our parent club Leeds CHA Rambling & Social Club. for further details follow the link on this website.
