Addingham circular over Beamsley moor to Lippersley pike
Details
We look forward to meeting up with you on this splendid hike onto the lower reaches of the Yorkshire Dales National park. Starting with a warming ascent to Beamsley Beacon where the scenery unfolds below us (weather permitting!). The walk continues along the moor top to Round Hill before starting a slow descent towards Great Timble wood. We then head West towards March Ghyll reservoir and Dean Beck ravine.
The walk starts and finishes in Addingham where there is plenty of space to park on Bark Lane. We will meet here at the steps leading to the suspension foot bridge. We will leave at 9.45 so please arrive in plenty of time to park and put on suitable clothing and boots before the departure time. Ensure that you take with you appropriate equipment and refreshment for a day's winter walking.
This is a Leeds CHA 'A' walk and so it is moderately strenuous being around 13 miles with a combined ascent of around 1650ft. A good portion of the walk is on well defined tracks but some sections can be boggy, muddy and slippery at this time of year. We expect to be back around 4.30pm (sunset is just before 5pm)
There is no charge to attend the first three CHA walks, but to attend further walks we request that you join our club for an annual membership fee of only £6.00. This will give you access to an unlimited number of walks, social events, coach trips, and weekends away, in line with our parent club Leeds CHA Rambling & Social Club. for further details follow the link on this website.
