'A' Walk - Long Scar and Stainforth Force
Leader: Eileen
From Clapham our first ascent is to Long Scar (1,250ft). We then follow the Dales Highway down to Wharfe Gill Sike waterfall, then pass below Smearsett scar and on to Stainforth Force falls. We finish by following the river Ribble into settle.
Total 12 miles 1,800ft approximately 6 hours walking time.

"B" Walk - Settle - Feizor Circular
Leaders: Jim & Joan
Total 9 miles of mostly gentle walking.
The walk leaves Settle in a northerly direction to join the Pennine Journey Trail over to Feizor. We then head East on part of the Dales High Way to Stainforth Force waterfall and back to Settle beside the River Ribble.

"C" Walk - Leader: Sarah
We start from Settle and walk upriver to the footbridge at Langcliffe Mill. After crossing the river we make our way uphill to Winskill and the top of Catrigg Foss. From there we descend on the Pennine Bridleway to Stainforth. After a short distsnce on the main road we take the footpath to the Hoffman kilns. From there we gradually climb back up to Langcliffe and the footpath back to Settle.
This walk is just under 7 miles and has 2 main climbs, about 1000' in total. Some stony paths and tracks, but magnificent views.
In the event of very hot or poor weather I will miss out the Catrigg Foss section and return to Settle via Stainforth Force.

D Walk – Upper Settle and Riverside Walk
Leader: Roger Mobile: 07796 230137
From the coach park we walk up to the Market Place, past The Folly and along Brockhole Lane to Hoyman Laithe. We then turn down Lodge Road, past Turnpike House to the river, with good views of Ingleborough. We cross the river via the bypass bridge and follow the Ribble Way back to Settle with a short diversion to Giggleswick Church. Then back to the river, over the Memorial Bridge and up into Settle town centre, passing the Quaker Meeting House and Victoria Theatre on the way.
About 5 miles, 300ft gradual ascent and descent, 3 stiles including one 3-step ladder stile.

Those who have walked with us before should note that from 1st January 2022 we brought our conditions into line with those of the parent club, Leeds CHA Rambling and Social Club, where newcomers can attend their first three walks free of charge to see if the group is suitable for them, but if they wish to continue we ask them to join the club and pay the annual subscription (only £6 a year!).
Only a small selection of our walks are posted on the Meetup site but paid up club members have access to our full programme which includes one or two walks each Saturday, and a choice of up to three walks on Sundays (including up to four coach trips a year so you can relax and chat on the journey without having to drive). Also we normally arrange one or two walking weekends away each year so there is something to suit everyone.
