Readiness For The Rapture

Although the term “Rapture” is not in the Bible, scriptures refer to it as the first phase of Christ’s second coming, where Christians who are ready are caught up to meet with Jesus in the air.

The theme for this Meetup “Readiness for the Rapture” is a salient reminder of a solemn reality that demands our utmost preparation.

The Apostle Paul declares: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).

The danger of missing this glorious event is grave. Jesus warns: “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come” (Matthew 24:40–42). To be left behind is to face the great tribulation, a time of unparalleled sorrow.

Preparation is therefore essential. Christ exhorts: “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately” (Luke 12:35–36). Holiness, vigilance, and steadfast faith are the marks of readiness.
