Place: Parking area to the rear of the Summit Inn OL15 9EW.

From Todmorden take the A6033 road towards Littleborough and when you get to the Summit Inn take the minor road to the left of the Inn go over the Canal Bridge to the parking area. Also accessible from j21 of the M62 (Milnrow).

Ride Description: Most of this ride is spent on high moorland tracks with superb views of the Pennine Hills.

We climb up from Summit on to a high moorland track which takes us to Watergrove reservoir nestling in the Pennine Hills. We skirt round the reservoir then drop down through Wardle and on to Hollingworth Lake, where we stop for a lunch break at the Lakeside Café.

We have a short climb which takes us over the M62 motorway to the hamlet of Tunshill, before we drop down to the three reservoirs in the valley. We skirt round them before picking up the Pennine Bridleway which takes us on some lovely single tracks over the moorland back to the start.

Nearest Rail Station: Walsden.

Type of Ride: Off Road.

Estimated Distance: 24 miles.

Estimated Ride Duration: 4 hours.

Technical / Physical Difficulty: RED (Difficult). A couple of steep climbs and some rocky technical single tracks, plus a total (aggregate) ascent of around 3,000ft, makes this a hard ride so a very good level of fitness required.
