This route will take us to Worsbrough country park south of Barnsley via a mixture of trails including some parts of the TPT (Trans Pennine Trail) network. We will have lunch there at either the Wheels & Walkers café or the Miller's Tea Room, or you can bring your own food if you prefer.

After lunch we will return by a (mostly) different route with a mixture of trails including more of the TPT.

Post-ride refreshment is available at the nearby Star Inn for those who fancy it.

Meet: 0945 for 1 10:00 departure.

Location: Asda superstore, Asdale Road, Wakefield, WF2 7EQ.

Parking: Park close to the recycle bins area - turn right immediately before the Asda filling station and then right just after the bins. Don't worry - you won't get clamped!

Nearest rail station: Sandal & Agbrigg (1.5 miles).

Type of Ride: Off road (mostly).

Distance: 35 miles.

Ride Duration: 6 hours including stops (estimated).

Technical difficulty: BLUE (Moderate), nothing particularly technical with mostly good or very good surfaces, but some of the old railway trails can be bumpy in places and might be a bit slithery after rain.

Physical difficulty : BLUE/RED (Moderate to Difficult), mainly because of the distance. Around 1,300ft total (aggregate) ascent so a reasonable level of fitness required.

Suitable For: Mountain bikes or Gravel bikes..

Food: There is a café stop at Worsbrough.

Recommendations: Spare tube, Tools, Pump, Energy bars/drinks, Water.

Safety: No Helmet = No Ride!
