*Comparing package releases with diffify.com*
I am excited to present diffify.com, our new service for comparing package releases. Say you were using a particular package in your coding project, and a new version has just come out. Diffify will provide a detailed overview of the package news along with the changes to dependencies, functions, and more! The app currently performs version comparisons for all R packages on CRAN, and we are actively expanding it to Python packages on PyPI. In this talk, I will show you how to use Diffify to scan your favourite packages at the click of a button!

Five years of The Data City: building a twenty employee data science and AI/ML start-up in Leeds, our technical and personal journey
The Data City has built the new standard for industrial classification using terrabytes of data and machine learning. This talk will focus on how we built a twenty person start-up here in Leeds with customers including Microsoft, KPMG, and the UK and overseas governments. I’ll include details on how we’ve built and maintain a heavily-used ML product on the web around a core of SQLite, C#, and .NET with additional analysis done using Python, R, and MongoDB. In particular I’ll share the key challenges we faced when moving from early proof of concepts to rock-solid deployed code.
