About us
Welcome to Leeds Humanists! We are a group of like-minded individuals in Leeds who share a passion for Humanism. Our group is dedicated to promoting critical thinking, ethical values, and reason in shaping our worldview. We promote and support Humanists UK services and campaigns, and are looking to grow the humanist movement at a local and national level.
We come together to discuss a wide range of topics including science, ethics, politics, and more, all from a humanist perspective. Whether you are a seasoned humanist or just curious about the philosophy, we invite you to join us for engaging discussions, social events, and building a supportive community based on reason and compassion.

Leeds Humanists Book Club
Holding Patterns, 2 Albion Place, Leeds, GBThe book is Stoner by John Williams. It is the story of an ordinary man's life, a man drawn to literature in early adulthood against the knowledge of his parents. He is not considered remarkable by anyone, yet his life clearly has value. He is a person making his mark only on the lives of his family and those close to him, leaving no impression on the wider world. A person who will not be remembered across the centuries, across the millennia. Like most of us.
As humanists, what do we understand to be the meaning of an individual's life? Indeed, do we, as individuals, need anything to provide us with meaning to live a happy, fulfilled life?
There are plenty more questions - not all of them existential. Join us to discuss.
