Perfect for both long-time classical music enthusiasts and anyone curious to experience choral music for the first time, My Spirit Sang All Day brings together a beautiful programme of a cappella secular and sacred music from the English and German Romantic traditions.

The programme includes the warmth of Vaughan Williams’ Linden Lea and the exquisite stillness of Stanford’s The Blue Bird, alongside the richer Romantic sound-world of Brahms and the deeply moving music of Hubert Parry, including his Songs of Farewell. Music by Bruckner and Déodat de Séverac adds a more reflective and devotional dimension.

The concert begins at 4.30pm and lasts approximately 90 minutes, including a short interval when refreshments will be served.

If you are also joining our Temple Newsam event earlier in the day, we will finish there at around 2.30pm and make our way over to Whitkirk with plenty of time before the concert. You are equally welcome to join us just for this event.
