LeedsSharp are proud to present Lewis Harper in "Ditch the Drudge Work: Agentic SDLC for .NET"

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE MEETING AT A NEW VENUE!!

Access Details Please go to the Enablis offices, they are on the first floor of the building, both front door and office doors should be open. If there is a problem then press the buzzer. We will meet at 6pm for pizza and drinks, the talks will start at 6.45. Some of us go to the either the brewery tap or editors draft pub afterwards at 8pm (vote to be taken).

Abstract:
This isn’t about vibe‑coding or just agentic coding. It’s about empowering the whole .NET developers by augmenting the "chores" developers typically hate:

  • Refinement with fuzzy requirements, (or performing refinements in the first place)
  • Estimation under uncertainty, (not knowing enough to make informed decisions)
  • Working around missing/outdated docs
  • Understanding legacy code, (We have all been there, and the developer knowledge usually left years ago)
  • Managing/closing testing gaps, (identify holes in testing)
  • Writing test plans, (for developers that work with QA)
  • Drafting release notes/changelogs, summarizing PRs/issues, breaking changes, links, verification steps (better communication between developers)
  • Long PR wait times
  • Slow bug resolution times
  • Reading API / SDK documentation

The solutions will be kept practical with a .NET app and GitHub Actions. We will focus on patterns people can drop into their pipelines the next day or next sprint.

People will Learn:

  • How to target the least‑loved work (refinement, estimation, missing docs, tests, release notes, test plans) to take the pain of those tasks away
  • Using agents to shrink PR wait times and use agents to point out likely issues that would normally come back from QA or customers
  • Turning messy commits/issues into clean release notes and QA test plans
  • Understanding legacy code via quick summaries, call graphs, and hotspots
  • How to keep the developer as the human‑in‑the‑loop so AI feels less risky to use
