Sign up for our next Women in Tech event for and by, women interested in all things digital.

Our ambition is to highlight female role models in the industry, encourage knowledge exchange and networking; and, of course, to have fun.

As Sky grows and creates more job opportunities within tech, our aim is to empower and support women who work or aspire to work in this field, giving them the advice they need to achieve their career goals.

Join us at Sky Leeds Dock on July 26th for an inspiring evening of talks, cocktails, food and good company.

Introduction

Didier Lebrat, Group Chief Technology Officer, Sky

Didier Lebrat joined BSkyB in December 2006. In 2016 he was appointed as Chief Technology Officer across the group. In this role, he leads the technical strategy, development and operations for broadcast, IT, internet and network platforms. Before joining Sky, Didier was CTO at Vodafone Italy, and before that CTO at Orange UK.

The Agile Business Analyst

Rachel Goulding, Product Owner for Sky Mobile

Rachel will explain how the Business Analyst (BA) role really adds value in translating the product vision into working software; ensuring customer value is iteratively delivered with minimum waste.

She will emphasise the importance of working collaboratively as a team, getting stakeholders involved in the development process and staying customer focused. The talk will also highlight how Analysts, Product Owners and Scrum Masters can work together in a single Agile scrum team.

The Sky Digital Product Owner

Gail Parker, Head of Online Capabilities

Gail will give an overview of the Sky Product Owner role and will explore the responsibilities and key traits that make a brilliant Product Owner

She will explain the important role that the PO fulfils in combining the needs of Sky’s customers and the business and translating this into a deliverable strategy and roadmap.

The Power of Self Efficacy

Keynote, Shirley Ficken, Northridge Coaching & Development Ltd

Shirley is a Leadership Development practitioner and Executive Coach. She works with leaders and teams in a variety of industries and specialisms including technology and digital media, helping them to improve performance and motivation in the workplace.

Shirley will facilitate an interactive session on the Power of Self Efficacy; describing what it is, how it adds value, and offering some practical hints and tips for achieving your goals.

Making IT work, like Mothers do

Catherine Bardsley, Cloudtrainer Ltd

Catherine is co-founder of Cloudtrainer Limited, an e-learning company based in Leeds. Cloudtrainer develop systems that make managing training more efficient and produce content that makes learning more effective, enabling users to practice real skills online.

Catherine will share her story of early motherhood and how that has helped shape, create and bring balance to her life, career and business.
