Hey there Javascripters!

This month I'll be doing a talk on automation with JavaScript and how it can make your life easier.

Here is a brief intro for the talk:

"Every day you encounter some form of automation. Traffic lights, continuous integration and smart devices such as the Nest thermostat are all different forms of it and they're used to make our lives easier.

In this talk I'll speak about various forms of automation that can be achieved with JavaScript and the ecosystem surrounding it, from testing to chat bots to rolling your own hardware, including some examples I use in my everyday life."

Update: Matt Zeunert is going to be doing a short talk on neural networks in Javascript! The talk is called "Detecting if a number is even with neural networks" and here's a bit from Matt:

"Neural networks are normally used to solve complex problems - but that makes them hard to understand. Instead, in this talk we’ll solve a simple problem using a neural network written in JavaScript."

We're starting to try 2 talks per event, so if you have a short talk (up to about 20 minutes) that you'd like to do in the future, let us know. It doesn't have to be a technical talk and could cover things such as teamwork, workflows or being a better human. Message us on meetup or through our twitter if you're interested!

As ever we will have demos of last month's challenge. We have some awesome prize sponsors and some great swag to give away.

The main talk starts at around 7:15, but most people show up from 6:45 for pizza and to network and chat about all things JavaScript before the talk. After the talk we’ll be heading over to Headrow House to have a drink and to chat some more.

The door to get in is shown here:

Please note the group is intended for people looking to expand their knowledge. While recruiters are welcome to come and learn, we operate a strict no recruitment policy.
