About us

This initiative comes from Lees St. Congregational Church (Openshaw, Manchester) , an open, welcoming missional church passionate about helping people discover and live out their vocational pathway, both within and beyond the Church.

We believe vocation is more than becoming a pastor or priest. It’s about contributing to the Body of Christ through the gifts God has given each of us — in music, teaching, care, creativity, family life, and service.

What we’re growing:

📖 Adult Bible Study Group (with accessible resources)

📚 Kids’ Bible Reading Club

👶 Family Playgroup & Toddler Support Group

We’re looking for new people, fresh ideas, and willing hearts to help re-invent and renew the Church in Christ, building a vibrant, multigenerational community rooted in faith, worship, and mission.

This first gathering is a get-to-know-each-other session for anyone interested in being part of the Faith, Vocation & Community initiative from Lees St. Congregational Church.
The aim of this meeting is simple:

🤝 Meet one another

🙏 Share our hopes, gifts, and callings

🧭 Begin shaping the vision together

🛠️ Identify areas of leadership, service, and collaboration

We’ll talk openly about what we’re hoping to grow including a Gospel & Worship choir/band, adult and children’s Bible groups, and family play and toddler support (or any new ideas you want to bring) and how each of us might contribute according to the gifts God has given us.
This is not about titles or hierarchy. It’s about listening, discernment, and shared ownership, as we seek to renew and re-imagine church life as a missional, welcoming community in Christ.
