If nationalism calls for putting the nation first and socialism seeks the welfare of society, populism should be the project of empowering the people. But isn’t that what democracy already does?

The recent spread of populism as a political concept tells us that the democratic ideal is losing its credibility, and this disaffection should question Communalists and Left Libertarians.
But who are the populists? What is it they want? Are they allies or unwanted diversions in the cause Left Libertarians support?
