Join LCC for the first screening in Border as Method, a six-part series on borders, bordering, and borderlands.

Taking up Mezzadra and Neilson's provocation that "the border has inscribed itself at the center of contemporary experience," the series asks us to think beyond the border as a line between two sovereign states. Across six films, we will encounter the border in multiple material and discursive forms. Each film in the series will build on questions raised by the last, followed by an open discussion.

The films themselves are secret. We won’t publish the titles in advance, but guesses are welcome.

Our first screening is a landmark 1970s film about Palestinian displacement and border crossings post-1948.

Come for the mystery; stay for the discussion. Looking forward to meeting you and hearing your thoughts.
