Shoulder Season 16 Miler in the Foothills
Details
I love the foothills southwest of Denver. There's Hildebrand, Deer Creek Canyon, and the stunning South Vally Park with its red rocks. And the seasonal Black Bear trail that connects them all is open! So how about we make an almost loop (point to point with like a 2 mile car shuttle) and do a tour of the area?
Meet at the southern trailhead for South Valley Ranch. Then we'll carpool to Hildebrand Ranch trailhead by Chatfield Botanical Gardens. The trail takes us along a contour for a few miles and then up and over the hogback where we eventually enter Deer Creek Canyon open space. We'll go 'round and down that, then up to Grazing Elk and a little final tour of South Valley.
Total of 15-16 miles
2,600 vert
