New and newish birders, this one's for you! Or if you're a backyard birder or casual birder who would like to take your knowledge up a notch. Please join us for the fall offering of Intro to Birding / How to Be a Birder!
This 3-session course will provide a concise introduction to birding for beginners. You’ll become familiar with common birds of the Lehigh Valley and some of their behavior and ecology. You’ll learn about tools to see and identify birds and record data. You’ll also learn about field etiquette, conservation issues, and how birders can help preserve and protect birds. And there will be time for your questions!
Class will meet via Zoom on three Thursday evenings in September for 1.5 hours. See below for schedule details.
Participants are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled fall Lehigh Valley Audubon Society field trips for field practice.
Possible impromptu field trip just for class members one weekend if there is interest and the weather looks good.
