new date - Field trip to Bicentennial Park
Details
The main purpose of this trip is to check out the wetland restoration area at Bicentennial Park in East Allen Township. The Park Director will join us, and we will see if it is getting some use yet! Mid May is a good time to look for shorebirds. In any case, it will be good to become familiar with this location which may become an important stopping point for migrating shorebirds and waterfowl as it develops.
Beforehand, we can take a walk on the adjacent Nor-Bath Trail for spring migrants or other birds.
Meet at the parking lot at 9 if you want to walk on the Nor-Bath Trail, and at 10 if you only want to walk the wetland restoration area.
Note: Paths are ADA compliant from the parking lot to the wetland area, and around the wetland area. The Nor-Bath Trail is wide and flat, but access from the park requires walking up a grassy hill.
