LVCC Ride Calendar

Start the new year off right and give back to our community by donating blood or other blood products such as platelets or plasma for the LVCC blood donation drive at Miller Keystone Blood Center from January 1-24. Donate at either of the Allentown locations (1255 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Ste 1300 or 740 Hamilton St., Ste 120) or the Bethlehem location ( 1465 Valley Center Parkway).

Sign up for your donation time by calling 800-223-6667 or visit their website at GIVEaPINT.org and use the Group ID code E406 in the notes section of the form. This event is open to friends and family of club members as well so spread the word.

Each donor will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card to the Market Cafe to be drawn at the end of the drive.
Consider signing up with friends and make it a social event as well or visit me at the Cedar Crest site the first two Monday's of January.

Clicking "attending" to this meetup post will not give you a donation time, but may get others motivated to sign up and donate.

This is a recurring LVCC virtual ride, at 9:30 am every Monday during the Fall & Winter season. If you RSVP to this ride and see an announcement of an outside LVCC ride on the same day, please check the attendees list below to see if others, including the ride host, have opted to ride outdoors instead. If I'm not doing this ride, it will not be deleted in case someone else wants to take the lead.

If you have previously participated in virtual rides using Rouvy and Discord, you know what to do. If you are new to this, then your first step should be to read this document: LVCC Virtual Rides

Each week, I will publish in this Meetup, the name of the Rouvy ride that we will use. Launch the Rouvy application and search for this route. When the ride page appears, choose “Just Ride”. After waiting for it to load, you’ll see the start line, with your bike and avatar.

When you start pedaling, as soon as you see your avatar start to move, hit the pause button (“||”), at the upper right hand corner of the screen. As other riders enter, you’ll see a list of them on the left side of the screen. When everyone is ready, the ride host will announce the start of the ride, just as they would on an in-person ride.

If you plan to connect to the other riders using Discord, you should do this before joining the Rouvy ride, as Rouvy only runs in full screen mode or join Discord on a separate device like a smart phone or tablet. Join the LVCC Discord room at https://discord.gg/5hFczJU54Z. Click on the voice channel “LVCC Ride #1” to join the chat.
