Yoga for Cyclists

Members of LVCC all enjoy the great benefits cycling provides for our health: leg strength, cardiovascular fitness and being outdoors in the fresh air. One consequence of being on our bike for 1, 2, 3+ hours is that we are in just one position over that length of time. There are many yoga poses to counter-balance that time on the bike in one position.

We will do a light, gentle practice to limber up our back, hips, shoulders, neck and wrists. These are all key areas to being comfortable on the bike for extended periods of time. You may want to include some movements we will do, to loosen up before a ride, during a ride at rest stops to stay fresh, or after a ride at home to quicken the recovery.

• Borrow a yoga mat to bring with you
• Borrow two yoga blocks (if possible) to bring with you
• Wear loose fit clothing

Paul Kelly has been a yoga practitioner for ~30 years and a Yoga Alliance (200-hours) yoga teacher since 2023.

Our Monthly Club Meetings are open to ALL club members. Please RSVP so that we will have an idea of expected attendance.

A short business meeting - with optional attendance - will follow the presentation and discussion.
