Cinema - No Other Choice
Details
I liked the sound of this Korean film when I saw the trailer last week. It looked very funny in a dark comedy/thriller kind of way.
The film satirises capitalism and corporate greed that can turn people into monsters; but surely Man-soo has a choice... or does he?
Sounds like it could be another good one to watch, and discuss.
Meet in the cafe area between 12:00 and 12:15 for a chat before the film and we can have a chat after the film as well (optional)
NOTE:
This is a foreign language film with Subtitles so I don't expect it to be a sell out; however, to avoid disappointment I recommend purchasing your ticket in advance if you can.
Synopsis:
Park Chan-wook (The Handmaiden, Oldboy) directs this wildly entertaining satirical thriller of cutthroat workplace politics. When Man-soo (Lee Byung Hun, Squid Game) is axed from his job of 25 years he finds himself desperate to maintain his family’s affluent lifestyle. Learning of a position at a rival company, he hatches a ruthless plot to deal with his would-be competitors and secure the role. A riotous black comedy that mixes absurd humour with chaotic set-pieces in a chillingly poignant state-of-the-nation critique.
Director: Park Chan-wook
