I have recently seen, and enjoyed, the 1960 French New Wave film Breathless (A bout de Souffle), which inspires this new film about the making of the 1960 film.

The film explores the creative, rebellious and spontaneous energy of the French New Wave era of filmmaking.
I think it will be a good one to watch, and discuss.

Meet in the cafe area between 11:45 and 12:00 for a chat before the film and we can have a chat after the film as well (optional)

NOTE:
Although I don't think this film will sell out, the last 3 films I've seen at Phoenix on a Sunday have been sold out. So to avoid disappointment I recommend purchasing your ticket in advance if you can.

Synopsis:
Reimagining the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless, Richard Linklater directs a playful, poignant love letter to cinema and the exuberant youthful rebellion that changed French Cinema forever.

Beautifully shot in chic monochrome, Godard (Marbeck) directs his burgeoning stars Jean-Paul Belmondo (Aubry Dill) and Jean Seberg (Deutch) on the hectic streets of Paris as he struggles to make his masterpiece. A stunning celebratory ode to the passion and ambition of the French New Wave.

Director: Richard Linklater
