Here's a chance to watch a new film adaptation of Albert Camus's famous 1942 novel The Stranger (L'Etranger). It is considered to be one of the most widely read novels of the 20th century (maybe you read it at school).

The novel is renowned for its exploration of existential detachment, social conformity and the emotional apathy of its main character.
I'd like to see if the film captures this.

Meet in the cafe area between 17:30 and 18:00 for a chat before the film.

Synopsis:
Set in 1938 Algiers, Meursault (Voisin) is a quiet and unassuming man in his early 30s. Upon finding out his mother has passed, he finds himself indifferent to his relationships and interactions. Both socially and romantically, Meursault allows himself to be guided by whatever is happening around him in the moment. One hot summer’s day, when this impassiveness leads to a tragic event, we learn that nothing will sway Meursault from his philosophical point of view.

In French with English subtitles..

Director: Francois Ozon
