Lenses of Croydon is pleased to announce the return of the Croydon Photography Forum, our monthly space for photographers, creatives, visual storytellers, and those completely new to photography to connect, learn and share their work.

We are proud to continue delivering the Forum within the Broad Green ward. It will now be hosted at the Smile Hub on London Road, West Croydon, in partnership with the Friends of the Smile Hub, as we continue our commitment to creating accessible and welcoming spaces for the local creative community.

For this relaunch session, we are delighted to welcome George Dyer as our guest speaker.

George is a long-standing member of Lenses of Croydon who developed his early interest in photography through community practice before going on to complete both a BA and MA in Photography. He is now an emerging visual artist whose work explores identity, memory and representation through collage and mixed media.

His practice draws on archival imagery and reworks it into layered compositions that question how stories are told and who gets to tell them, with a particular focus on the lived experiences of Black and brown men. George has exhibited his work across a range of spaces in the UK and internationally, including Central Saint Martins, the Affordable Art Fair in Hampstead Heath, the Brady Arts & Community Centre, and the Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition.

In this session, George will share his journey into photography, the influences behind his work, and his experiences of studying and developing a professional practice. He will also offer insight into his creative process and the realities of working within the visual arts.
The session will include time for discussion and questions, providing an opportunity to engage directly and reflect on your own creative development.

Whether you are new to photography or looking to further develop your practice, the Croydon Photography Forum offers a supportive space to learn, connect and grow.

Please note we meet at 6:45pm for a 7pm start and there will be a fundaraising raffle on the night to keep the forum going and ensuring that it is accessible to all.
