Chinese Calligraphy & Traditional Tea Ceremony

Step into the world of Chinese tradition with an evening of tea and calligraphy, where mindful artistry meets ancient brewing techniques.

The evening will begin with an immersive tea ceremony, following the principles of Pin Cha (品茶), the art of appreciating tea.
Using the Gong Fu Cha (工夫茶) method—a meticulous and refined way of brewing tea—we will explore how small, carefully controlled infusions bring out the tea’s full depth and complexity. Expect to taste high-quality loose leaf teas from our big collection, observe the beauty of traditional teaware, and learn about the philosophy behind this meditative practice.

Calligraphy Workshop:
The Flow of the Brush Once relaxed and inspired by the tea ceremony, we will transition into the world of Chinese calligraphy.

Under the guidance you will:
• Learn the fundamental strokes and techniques of brush calligraphy.
• Understand the meaning and structure of Chinese characters.
• Practice writing traditional symbols related to tea, harmony, and nature.
• Experience the meditative aspect of ink on paper, mirroring the mindfulness of tea brewing. No prior experience is required, and all materials will be provided.

You will leave not only with your own handwritten calligraphy piece but also with a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture.
