Hello swimmers!

We ([Northern Wave](https://northernwave.org/)) are an LGBT+ swimming club based in Manchester, with members travelling to train (or swim socially) from Manchester and beyond. It doesn't matter if you're a head-up leisurely breast-stroker, you enjoy swimming lots of lengths, or you want to train to compete we cater for all. We just ask you are comfortable swimming two lengths.

Our well-established Wednesday womxn session is dedicated to cis women, trans women and non‑binary people in order to help aid participation in sport in a supportive, female environment. The pool is 25m long with up to six lanes of coached and non‑coached swimming.

Nearly all of our existing members that attend don't/aren't using MeetUp, so please don't be put off by low sign up numbers here. There will always be a member on the door (at a table) at Hough End Leisure Centre, to the left of the reception before the session starts, to welcome you. Aim to arrive by quarter to eight for a little bit of paperwork (for insurance) and time to say hello before the swim!

Sessions cost £5.00, or £3.00 for those earning less than the living wage, or the option to pay by monthly Standing Order. Your first session is free of charge.

We're more than just a swimming group; we have regular social events, ranging from picnics to nights out (and always open to new ideas to social events), and our weekly Wednesday post-swim trip to the pub for a refreshment.

No need to commit to coming every week, just come along when you can.
