Details

“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” Zen Shin
Let's enjoy the little spring flowers at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. The spring ephemerals should be blooming and will be a delight to view. They bloom early in the woodlands before the tree canopy leafs out and limits their sunshine.
Meet by the stairs (by the parking lot) that lead down to the front gate of the flower garden.
This walk will be led by Gundula. She will be wearing a blue knitted hat with white horses.
After the walk, let's gather for a picnic lunch on the grass. Bring your own picnic blanket and a bag lunch.

The garden is free, but the parking lot is metered by the city of Minneapolis.
Directions to 1 Theodore Wirth Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55405: from Theodore Worth Parkway, watch for the big brown park sign that says “Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary” and turn on the one way road that leads up a hill to the parking lot by the flower garden front gate.
For our outdoor events, no pets unless the event leader writes they are welcome in the posting.
Keep an eye on this posting as the date or time may change due to weather conditions. All our meetups have a minimum of 5 in order to run. Please change your RSVP if you are not able to make it for any reason.

This web site has a good map for parking and pages on identifying spring flowers and on the life of Eloise Butler:
