Baker Park Reserve DAY VISIT

Details

This sign up is for members who are not camping but would like to come out just for the day on Saturday to enjoy the park (there’s a separate event listing for overnight campers to sign up).

Baker Park Reserve is a sprawling natural oasis located in Maple Plain, Minnesota, offering a wide array of outdoor recreational activities. Encompassing over 2,700 acres of pristine woodlands, wetlands, and lakeshore, the park provides ample opportunities for hiking, biking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. Water enthusiasts can enjoy swimming, boating, and fishing in the park's scenic lakes. With its extensive network of trails, beautiful scenery, and diverse recreational offerings, Baker Park Reserve is a beloved destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Check out the park web site for more information:

Our member Sue has reserved a group campsite (group campsite HALF MOON - see attached map). This is where you will find our group. A water pump, pit latrines, picnic tables and a fire ring are on site.
We will have a shared potluck group meal on Saturday night (around 6 pm) for all members.
Bring your own camp chair, plate, cup & utensils.
We will coordinate food closer to the camping date.

Each member coming for a day visit on Saturday will need to contribute $10 / person to cover the site reservation fee. Pay the fee to the event leader Sue when you arrive.

Directions to Half Moon Group Camp:
- on County Road 19 (= Baker Park Road) coming from the south, turn to the right (see below map and picture). Look for the sign “Half Moon Group Camp - Canoe Launch” on the right side of the road.
- on County Road 19 (= Baker Park Road) coming from the north, turn to the left (see below map and picture). There’s no sign to the campground on this side of the road. Turn to the left at house no. 2725.

Remember to bring long pants and/or mosquito spray to protect yourself from mosquito bites in the evening.

Well behaved dogs on leashes are fine.
These are the park dog rules: dogs are allowed at group-camp areas; however, dogs are not permitted at the beach, play area or in buildings. Dogs are also allowed in picnic areas, turf trails and paved trails. A trail map is available at ThreeRiversParks.org. Dogs must be on a maximum 6-foot non-retractable leash and owners are required to clean up after them. They may not be tied to trees or tables.

Keep an eye on this posting as the date or time may change due to weather conditions. All our meetups have a minimum of 5 in order to run. Please change your RSVP if you are not able to make it for any reason.
