Bakken Ensemble Chamber Music Concert
Details
Join us for an intimate chamber music concert with the Bakken Ensemble in the intimate Antonello Hall, featuring lovely classical pieces, including a haunting yet accessible quartet by Caroline Shaw, a queer composer, a folk-tinged duet by Grażyna Bacewicz, another female composer, and a beautiful iconic work by Robert Schumann.
The concert starts at 4 pm and is followed by a wine and cheese reception.
This was a popular event last year.
The tickets are $35, but if that is beyond your means you can make a smaller donation of any amount. Please purchase your tickets in advance, but they are also usually available at the door:

More detail:
The Bakken Ensemble features current and former members of the Minnesota Orchestra and St Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the audience is a queer friendly (and generally friendly) group. The MacPhail’s Antonello Hall is a beautiful space with all good seats where you can be close to the musicians and see and hear their interactions.
Venue: The MacPhail Music is near the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, at 501 S 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55401. This is a safe area. There is street metered parking, and Anna C would also recommend the reasonable parking a 5 min walk away at the Mill Quarter municipal parking ramp, 711 South 2nd Street. There is also parking across the street from the MacPhail at the Depot, 136 S. 5th Ave. S. that is on the expensive side. Carpooling is encouraged.
Please be on time (3:45 pm).
Please change your RSVP online if you sign up and then for any reason cannot attend.
