'All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players'
As You Like It is back.
2015 has given us a few real highlights. At the Globe in June, this staging was one of those.
Our members left the Globe saying: "Amazing" - "Loved it and would love to see it again" - "Absolutely brilliant" - "I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day."
With Shakespeare's best known speech "All the world’s a stage", evocative music and dance, plus a leading man removing more than his tunic and smock, this production has all you'd expect from the Globe and a little bit more.

Very reminiscent of 'Shakespeare In Love', as a bonus this production stars the brilliant Michelle Terry as Rosalind.
For the historically minded, As You Like It is the play that opened the Globe in 1599 with one William Shakespeare himself in the role of Adam.
This evening performance brings that world back vividly to life.

Disguised as a boy and accompanied by her cousin Celia, she seeks out her father and his friends in the Forest of Arden. There she meets Orlando again and, under the guise of a young man, counsels him in the art of love.

Shakespeare's Globe is a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, an Elizabethan playhouse in the London Borough of Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames that was originally built in 1599, destroyed by fire in 1613, rebuilt in 1614, and then demolished in 1644. The modern reconstruction is an academic approximation based on available evidence of the 1599 and 1614 buildings. It was built about 230 metres (750 ft) from the site of the original theatre and opened to the public in 1997, with a production of Henry V.
