Rationality Meetups

These are irregular social meetups that feature a relaxed atmosphere and soup and are great for longer conversations and discussion in small groups.

Sequences Reading Group

In the biweekly reading group we focus on extracting insights from the LessWrong sequences and applying them to improve our rationality.

Effective Altruism Meetups

The biweekly meetups of our local effective altruists at the VEBU offices often host lightning talks and serve as an entry point for EA-related projects.

European Community Weekend

Berlin hosts the yearly three-day gathering of the European rationality community. The weekend is an extremely fun blend of conference, networking event and family gathering.

Let's meet for the ACX Spring Meetups Everywhere 2026 in the Humboldthain!

This will likely be a big meetup, as it was announced by Scott on ACX. From experience, I expect 25–50 attendees.
Humboldthain is good to reach by public transport; the next train stops are S+U Gesundbrunnen and S Humboldthain.

If you’re reading this, you’re invited. Please don’t feel like you "won't be welcome" just because you’re new to the blog, demographically different from the average reader, or hate ACX and everything it stands for. You'll be fine!

I'll buy some snacks; feel free to bring something to share as well. There are also many restaurants around if you get hungry.

LessWrong Community Weekend 2026

Join one large rationalist social gathering, which brings together 250+ aspiring rationalists from across Europe and beyond for 4 days of socializing, fun, and intellectual exploration.

The whole event will be participant-driven in an unconference style: shortly before, and any time during, the weekend, a digital event schedule is filled with 100+ workshops, talks and activities by the attendees.

The community weekend is family & LGBTQIA+-friendly, and after last year's amazing experience, we are increasing our effort into creating a diverse event where people of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and experiences feel like they are at home.

We invite everyone who shares a curiosity for new perspectives to gain a truthful understanding of the world and its inhabitants, a passion for developing practices and systems that achieve our personal goals and, consequently, those of humanity at large, as well as a desire to nurture empathetic relationships that support and inspire us on our journey.

Price:
Regular ticket: €225-275 | Supporter ticket: €300/400/500+
(The ticket includes accommodation from Friday to Monday, meals, and snacks.) Nobody makes any money from this event, and the organizer team is unpaid.

This event has a special place in our heart, and we truly think there’s nothing else quite like it. It’s where so many of us made friends with whom we have more in common than each of us would’ve thought to be possible. It’s where new ideas have altered our opinions or even changed the course of life - in the best possible way.
