Season's greetings and I hope that you all had a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Following the last three quizzes of 2025 we delivered £500 cash to the Julia's House offices in Wimborne before Christmas which was gratefully received.

We raised a total of £2,117.10 in 2025.

Many of you will know that we started the quizzes in support of Julia's House in the good old days of Bournemouth Flying Club and ran around 50 quizzes there. Unfortuately, the Flying Club closed and the we had to find new venues.

The first non Flying Club quiz was held on 8th January 2016. Thus, Thursday 8th January 2026 is exactly 10 years since we started the new series of quizzes, still supporting Julia's House but now at our new permanent home, the Hamworthy Club at Canford Magna.

To celebrate the occasion we have organised a bumper celebration quiz on this date,

Thursday 8th January 2026 and are holding it in the main hall with much more capacity and we hope that you can support us and encourage more teams to come along. It will be in the same format with cash prizes of £30, £20, £10, bottle of wine, biscuits and of course the consolation sweets. And we would be grateful for donations of raffle prizes.

And there is more good news as with the support of our new permanent home, The Hamworthy Club, we have arranged six more quizzes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for more flexibility but partly due to the availability of the popular venue

All quizzes are to be run with the same rules.
1. Maximum of 6 people per table unless otherwise stated by quiz organisers.
2. All tables must have a host.
3. Each table is independent and any winnings stay with the individual table.
4. The host is responsible for dividing any winnings fairly and equally on the night of the quiz. If winnings produce an uneven allocation for the attendee’s, it must be decided on the night how to apportion the winnings fairly – made up with cash if necessary.
5. The host will list attendee’s on their table, and keep notes of who attended and how winnings were shared out and these to be kept for 3 calander months in case of any disagreements. If any member is not happy about a situation and wants to make a complaint, please direct your complaint to Let’s.be.social.meetup@gmail.com
