Join Let’s Go! Explore Pensacola Geocaching as we head out to Sunset Shell Beach for a coastal treasure hunt along the beautiful Gulf shoreline.
This event combines beachcombing, light hiking, and strategic cache hunting in one of the area’s most scenic waterfront spots. Expect sugar-white sand, sea oats swaying in the breeze, and the golden glow of sunset as we search for hidden geocaches tucked along dunes, trails, and shoreline access points.
### What We’ll Be Doing
- Searching for multiple geocaches in and around the beach area
- Navigating using GPS coordinates and the geocaching app
- Working in small teams to solve clues and locate containers
- Logging finds and exchanging small trackables (if available)
- Enjoying a relaxed sunset meetup after the hunt
### Terrain & Difficulty
- Mostly flat sand and light trail walking
- Easy to moderate difficulty caches
- Family-friendly, but be prepared for soft sand walking
### What to Bring
- Smartphone with the Geocaching app (or GPS device)
- Water and sun protection
- Comfortable walking shoes or sandals suitable for sand
- A pen to sign cache logs
- Optional: small trade items
We’ll move at a comfortable group pace and make sure beginners feel confident navigating and logging their finds. As always, we practice Leave No Trace principles and respect the natural dune ecosystem.
