Financial District: History Walk & Riverfront Lunch
Details
We'll delve into the history of Manhattan before delicious lunch with Hudson River views at a spinoff of a New York classic - P.J. Clarke's. A relaxing way to enjoy a NYC Sunday morning.
This is one of the most popular tours I lead in NYC for Thomas Cook, EF Tours, Explore America and groups from around the world. Come play tourist for an hour just for fun and and a fresh way to see the city's storied places.
We'll start at Bowling Green, The Canyon of Heroes, The Wall Street Bull and The New York Stock Exchange and discover surprising places (like the darkest street in NYC; the worlds first skyscraper, Manhattan's billion dollar building) on our way toward the Occulus. You'll discover new details, nuances and even humor about the places you may have sometimes put off visiting as too crowded or touristy. Just before we reach our lunch spot, we will visit the 9/11 Memorial grounds for a deeper understanding of the outdoor installations there. We will refresh with modern architecture and water views as we stroll to lunch. By the end of an hour you'll have new expertise in navigating and sharing the Financial District and you'll be ready to share lots of stories with your next batch of out-of-town guests.
